Why we recommend them
The Sherrie is one of the very few motorcycle leggings to combine:
AA protection
Level 2 armour included
Genuine petite, regular and tall leg lengths
A size range up to UK 28
Consistently outstanding feedback from curvier women
That's an exceptionally difficult combination to find, which is why they comfortably earned a place on our Women on 2 Wheels Recommended list.
MotoGirl's Sherrie Leggings have become one of the best-known women's motorcycle leggings in the UK, and with good reason.

Sizing & Fit
Available in an exceptionally inclusive size range from UK 4 to 28, MotoGirl also offers the Sherrie in Petite (27"), Regular (29") and Tall (31") leg lengths. As with the rest of the MotoGirl range, their sizing guide is one of the most accurate we've come across, so it's well worth checking your measurements rather than relying on your usual dress size.
The shorter leg lengths make a real difference. Not only do they remove excess material around the ankles, they also ensure the knee armour sits much closer to where it should. The knee armour is adjustable, allowing you to fine-tune its position for your riding posture, while the hip armour is supplied as standard.
Unlike many riding leggings, the Sherrie has enough stretch to make getting them on and off straightforward, without feeling loose once you're riding. The high waistband also helps prevent the annoying gap that can appear between jacket and trousers when you're leaning forward on the bike.
Curves - Waist, Hips & Thighs
This is where the Sherrie really stands out.
Women with a pronounced waist-to-hip ratio consistently describe them as one of the few motorcycle leggings that genuinely accommodates curves without leaving a large gap at the waist. The fabric has a generous amount of four-way stretch, allowing it to move with you rather than feeling restrictive around the hips or thighs.
Many riders comment that they simply stop noticing they're wearing motorcycle gear once they're on the bike. The soft inner lining, flexible fabric and lack of bulky seams make them particularly popular for commuting, café rides and longer summer days in the saddle.
Like most leggings, they're designed to be a close fit. If you're between sizes or carry more weight around your hips and thighs, some women recommend trying the next size up, although the stretch means sizing is generally considered more forgiving than many motorcycle jeans.
Overall, rider feedback from curvier women is consistently excellent, making these one of the easiest trousers in this guide to recommend for comfort and everyday wear.
Safety
Unlike many riding leggings that prioritise fashion over protection, MotoGirl Sherrie achieves AA CE certification, giving it a significant advantage over many motorcycle leggings that remain limited to Class A protection. They come fitted with Level 2 knee and hip armour as standard, with adjustable knee armour pockets helping achieve a more accurate fit.
The Sherrie combines the comfort women expect from leggings with AA-rated abrasion protection, making them one of the very few products to successfully bridge that gap.
While they're not intended to replace dedicated touring or adventure trousers for every situation, they provide an impressive balance of comfort, flexibility and protection for everyday riding, making them one of the strongest all-round motorcycle leggings currently available for women.
