MotoGirl is top of the list for Motorbike because they are producing gear exclusively for Women riders. All of their R&D is focused on designing women's bodies.
There are increasing new emerging companies in this space, but none that have yet tackled motorbike trousers, which is not to say there aren't excellent alternatives in companies offering a womens range alongside their mens' lines.
Sizing & Fit
Available in a generous size range (UK 4 to 24). Motogirl have a very helpful and accurate size chart so do check against that on their site.
Leg length:
Available in petite, regular, and tall leg lengths. The short/petite leg length features an inseam of approximately 27" to 28", Regular are 30 inches and Tall 33 inches.
Inside seam alone doesn't solve the problem for petite (or those of us in between leg lengths) as the placement of knee armour and bulk around the ankles from those excess inches can still be an issue, we don't all share the same proportions from hip to knee and knee to feet after all.
These truly are a godsend though as the armour placement is properly positioned, and still adjustable for both knee and hip. Remember to adjust for your sitting position on the bike.
MotoGirl have solved that challenge of those extra ankle inches if you are between leg lengths as these trousers feature stretch ribbing at the ankle. This allows the leg to tuck easily into tall motorcycle boots or sit comfortably over short riding boots/trainers without bunching up or if you are on the taller side - riding up your leg.
Curves - Waist, Hips & Thighs
Now these trousers are a cargo style so they do add bulk due to their pockets on the thighs, and any additional bulk on top of the fabric and the hip armour is never welcome BUT it is something that you can forgive because you don't need to compromise on waist to hip ratio.
If you have larger hips or things you will likely need to size up, and this is where another issue typically rears its head, gaping waists. Fortunately these trousers feature adjustable waist buckle tabs which allow you to tailor the waistline to fit snugly while leaving comfortable room in the hips and thighs.
What that means is our thighs may look a little chunky, but we do get to keep our curves, and what we haven't covered yet is the comfort. These are very comfortable. The right amount of movement and give and the fabric is soft with a silky lining and doesn't feel bulky when you are wearing them.
The reviews are overwhelmingly positive from curvy girls, just accept you are likely to need to size up...but they are worth it.
Safety
The MotoGirl Lara cargo pants have a CE Class A rating for abrasion—the lowest of three levels—so they’re safest in lower-speed urban riding. The knee and hip armor, however, is higher spec—CE Level 2, which is the highest rating for impact protection.
